Ok Thanks Shirley/ Virtuous and Ben
You can BYOB, but you can get alcohol there too, wine, beer. Great place, was there about a week ago
You can Park in the residential area and walk a block or two. Or pay for parking.
Im sure you can bring your cake, they may even give you a drink. Its rather a lose place
I didn't see any kid's menus or prices. Seafood comes out so whole table can share.
Prices are very reasonable. My gf and I spent about 70 bucks and got a plenty for the two of us. It's byob too so that'll save you a bit on that end, if you drink.
Yes you can
After 6pm the parking is free on the side streets.Limited availability. You only pay meter parking on Milwaukee Ave
I recently just bought 1 pound of crab legs 1 pound of headless shrimp and corn/potatoes, yesterday, i used to love this place but the sauce wasn't spicy and it tasted a bit sweet to me.. (I got the three combination furious beares) sorry don't know how to spell it.. not my type of sauce I'm so disappointed 😫 and it was very little portion too
The seafood is amazing here. The shrimp, snow crabs, and lobster tail are highly recommended.
Great food great service, some wait time but well worth it!
My waiter was really nice but as far the food I didn't like it at all. Really greasy and thick it really had no flavor. Then the prices were really high and the amount food I got ddnt reflect the prices...I was charged 4dollas for brngn one wine bottle in wen I was told it was 2dolla. I was jus really disappointed because I'm a pescatarian and it was my bday I really had plans on eating good. I ddnt wana waste my money or be hungry so at a point I literally was forcing myslf to eat the food. Smh I WILL NOT B BACK .....TRULY MY FIRST AND LAST TIME
It was good. I ordered crawfish and head on shrimp. A lot of work. I would recommend headless shrimp plus the potatoes and all the sauces at whatever spice level works for you. Overall excellent food here.
My partner and I shared the 2-3 person bag, (I forgot the name) It was a mix of everything, ordered it with ths combo of flavors (the most popular) and it was so good, finger licking good, literally! Ths corn was sweet and fresh, we got the heat setting at Mild because the server said the hot was really hot, but I think I would try the hot next time as mild was really nothing spicy at all.
Love the flavors and friendly staff here! Seafood quality varies from each season so it's to be expected. Kinda wish they had a way to let us what's in season so I could avoid mushy shrimps every so often. Good vibes and good eats nonetheless!
The food is decent, but the customer service is bad. First, upon arivial i told my waiter what seat we wanted and it needed to be cleaned. They proceeded to clean other tables and waited to clean ours last. While being seated it took about 30 mins for my waiter to serve me with basic water. After I ordered was put in it was easily another 40 minutes before anything's showed up. VERY SLOW SERVICE FOR SEAFOOD.
First of all if you have slow and useless servers you will have upset customers so you need to either change management or hired enthusiastic people that like to do their job. If your stuff is not trained to do hundreds of orders in a holiday like Mother’s Day there is a problem. Make sure your employees knows how to get customer’s orders ready and completed when they pickup their orders.
Best seafood I've had in a long time and reasonably priced
Very good east. Items are sold by the pound. I recommend getting one or two options because anything else you're going to take home. Everything is served in a bag. 😁 If you don't want the mess on your hands then ask for gloves. But what's the fun in that when you can wash your hands at the sink afterwards. You also bring own wine or beer no hard liquor is allowed
Delicious! BYOB was a lot of fun. Really enjoyed the food. Get the deal for the seafood boil which is around $80 dollars. The staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel like family.
The waitress was very helpful in suggesting the flavors. Nice atmosphere, I wish the table was bigger, I tend to make a mess. I saw others bring in their own beer in cases. I didn't ask about it but that's a first. I ordered my beer 😉
Very small sizing. Like their crab legs must’ve been on a diet before being captured. Over $100 and Left still hungry. Not much flavor. Corn could’ve cooked longer and also been seasoned. No alcohol. Waiter never came back to refill drinks.
First of all, the food was sooooooo good(i had to stress it) i forgot to take pictures. I only took a picture of the fries we were served to munch on while our order was being prepared. I dont want to post it, so some ppl who didnt read my review think " so its all fries, he ate and he rated them 5 stars??" 😁 Now to my reason, So my wife and I were thinking of having a spot to chill and relax after another week of stress and work just to pay bills🙄, then we agreed on sea food and we chose here. The waiter was friendly and took her time while she took our order and was surprised when told her i wanted my food to be extra spicy. Lol. Also had my jameson with sprite as chaser to step down my meal 😜Bottom line im defo coming here again. I got full value for my money and i am tipping double. Anyone thinking of sea food should give here a shot. Peace out ✌🏾
Food is really good!! The place is BYOB and my recommendation is look for the time that you are planning to go to avoid a long wait, in case that you have to wait is worth it!
Overly expensive, charge $0.50 for gloves and the shrimp was over cooked. The staff was very nice and pleasant. Low Country is much better!
Hands down amazing atmosphere and food. We got the king bag that you can share and it was perfect the sauces were💣 my son loved it. They greeted us and the staff was great!! This is a must try if you are in Chicago!
The sides are kinda bland so don’t waste your money, just get straight to the spicy buttery garlicky seafood in a bag. It’s BYOB so Coronas are advised, naturally.
Entered restaurant early afternoon and was fairly empty. Hostess sat us right Mesmer to other guests. We asked to move to more spacious area and was told they don’t like splitting the tables. We moved and was still put next others but whatever. The food was why we were there! We received our food and the shrimp tasted fishy which is never a good sign. The manager immediately became defensive and assured us that the shrimp just came in and were fresh. I told her they may have just come in but they are definitely not fresh. She remained assured that nothing was wrong with the shrimp. I ate 2 of the shrimp and left the whole bag there! So disappointing :( restaurants please realize you can sometimes receive bad food!
I had a bag of 1/2 mussels and 1/2 shrimp with Cajun fries. The Cajun fries were WAYYYY to salty. Too much seasoning. I’ve been to several seafood boils places; low country kitchen, two fish, Cajun boil but I have to say Angry Crab is nothing like it. I was not a fan of the sauce. I got everything with spicy. I ate the food around 3:30pm, by 8:00 my stomach started cramping bad!! I don’t know if the food was bad (meaning old) or what. I’ve never experienced this while eating other seafood.
Angry Crab has a great menu and overall concept. You have the ability to pick your seafood, seasoning, and sides and they prepare everything before bringing it to you in a big plastic bag. This is a really fun place to share a meal and it is very affordable (especially given that it is BYOB).
Great food! Terrible service, rude/passive aggressive management.
It was my 1st time eating there and eating out since covid and it was great can't wait to go back!
With the plethora of Cajun seafood places, Angry Crab is my all time favorite. They sell seafood by the pound with your choice of spice level and flavoring. Be sure to get the Maniac sauce! The wings are perfectly fried and delicious. Garlic noodle are a must! They have happy hours specials Mon-Wed with deals on oysters, wings, and BOGO garlic noodle. Parking may be difficult on Ashland during peak hours. Do not park in the Jewel parking lot or they may tow you. There is always a line at peak dining hours and weekends so try to go early in the day or on weekdays.
Came home to visit and was eager to eat here. My first time experience was very disappointing. My expectations were high based on reviews and our order didn’t live up to those expectations. We did the Ultimate E.A.T meal with samples of everything... Green mussels were undercooked, Jonah crab had no meat inside the claws, snow crab were ok once sauce rinsed off, lobster was good, so we ate those to entirety, and sausage was ok. Biggest disappointment of all was the sauce. We choose garlic butter and that honestly made the remainder of the meals intolerable. The garlic was overbearing and seem to be the ONLY seasoning. I don’t know if we chose the wrong sauce/flavor, but that garlic butter is not it. The $80 we spent on this meal was reasonable for the portions we received however. My suggestion: Start your visit off by asking about the sauce and flavors if you’re a first timer.
Ohhhhh MY how I love this place. This is my absolute favorite seafood restaurant in the city of Chicago right now. Now one thing I do want to say is that it's not cheap eats. But everytime I spend $40-$50 on just myself, I don't feel bad because it was absolutely positively delicious. I get the bag with shrimp head off, crab legs, and lobster tails and it's just EVERYTHING I need in the world in food form. I've so glad this place exists, it's so good so so so so good. I look forward to my next visit.
First time at such type of restaurant. Overall, very good experience. Service was great! It seems the place is a little bit pricy for the quantity of food in the bag. Food was tasty, nonetheless. Disclaimer, a lot of garlic! Nice and cozy atmosphere. You eat with hands too!
I love this place! The food is always fresh and delicious.
I was missing half my order. I had half shrimp half scallops. But only got shrimp and only got 2/3 of my potatoes. I REALLY HOPE THE OWNER SEES THIS and reaches out to me. I SHOULD be refunded 19.99$ THE ENTIRE ORDER WAS 35.25. I was robbed 19.99.This was my first and last time coming here. Please check your bag before leaving the place, I can’t believe the server did not make sure my order was complete. Server RANDY H this order was on July 29 6:17pm
Fun place. Great concept. Very good food. Casual dining. BYOB.
Food was amazing. Got the level 2 King Crab with andouille sausage. It's quite a mess digging in that hot bag with your hands and cracking sauce covered crab, but it's worth it and really fun too. Bring some beers and an appetite, this place rocks. Convenient wash up stations too. Good place for kids, dates, or anyone who enjoys seafood and eating with their hands. I want to try everything on the menu, can’t wait to go back!
You want a giant bag of shellfish dropped on your table? This is the place. Weird for me, but a good time. Also this place seems to promote spicy. The garlic option is good (I don't like spicy or sriracha, which is their "mild option"). If you like spicy, consider this a 5. If not, consider this a 3.5 to 4.
I had the jumbo fried shrimp with fries..it was delicious. My friend had king crab and it was really good. I recommend this place. It's a fun experience.
My very first time here, arriving I was told it will take 25 minutes. My order was to go and there was no seating area. So I stood for over 45min waiting. After waiting for 45min the host comes to me and say they lost my ticket in the kitchen. After 45min how do you lose a ticket? $100 gone down the drain, NEVER AGAIN‼️
Ordered the ultimate eats manic style .. the mixture of garlic butter, lemon pepper, and angry cajun seasoning was a burst of flavor with every seafood bit we took. For a party of 11 and the restaurant was packed with no empty seats.. our waiter was attentive and our food did not take all to come out. My over all experience here was great. Looking forward to my next visit back.
If you love eating with your hands this is the place, the service is really good. The food taste great. Bring a marker to sign your name in the wall.
Everything is sold by the pound and it was delicious. I ordered the ultimate eat (great deal) and had leftovers. The meal is enough for two but I do recommend ordering more crab legs if sharing. The bag will only include one cluster. Service was great, very attentive.
Food and service was great! Went on a Sunday afternoon, was seated righted away and food came relatively quick.
Food was amazing! Serving method was new to me but I had a lot of fun eating and trying it out. Very good place for a date, you get to see them at their messiest.
Best seafood I've had in Chicago.
Amazing food. I would recommend at least 1 pound of food per person. This is my favorite place in Chicago. It is different but very fun. Just embrace the messiness.
The food is great and very reasonably priced! The ambiance is like a cabin in the mountains - wood with fire throughout the restaurant. It is a cozy place. We had the Brussel sprouts, mushroom burger, truffle burger with Impossible (vegetarian) patty, clams, mac n cheese, and hot apple cider, blueberry cupcake, and strawberry cupcake.
Be ready to get your hands dirty (or you can skip that part by asking for a pair of plastic gloves if you are not into digging through seafood and Cajun sauce). Very cool Southern Food place serving delicious seafood in a bag. You get to mix and match your favorite seafood (shrimps, mussels, veals - just to name a few) and choose your favorite sauce (tha angry Cajun was tasty) and spiciness level. Be sure to ask for some corn bread so you can dip it in the extra sauce that will be lingering in the plastic bag after the seafood is gone!
First time diner. Ordered a pound of headless shrimp with sausage, corn and potatoes. As well as the crab fried rice. My friend ordered a pound of headless shrimp, a pound of crab legs and boiled oysters. The crab rice was very flavorful but a little salty. My friend sent the oysters back due to not being cooked properly. Both of our boils were over cooked! Two pounds of shrimp and a pound of crab legs, it was very disappointing. A had a few shrimp that weren’t deveined as well. The corn was under cooked as well. The sauce could use some work, it had a sweet taste to me. Waiters were okay.
I have been to other boil in a bag places before. Service here is excellent but the food here is ok if you can stomach it. I have never had to run to the bathroom in sickness after 3 bites of food before. I was eating garlic rice but it didn't sit well. The server was very nice and switched it for a plain order of rice for me. After that everything was fine but I won't be eating here again.
I give this restaurant 3/5 stars only because the meal was satisfying. I liked Hot n Juicy Crawfish better honestly. They only lose two points because A. They charge $1 for gloves 🙄. I hate when establishments 'nickle and dime' their customers. B. They're more expensive than the other crab boils (not quality just quantity) C. The worst part of all is they are ripping off their customers...The waitress said that they charge 20% mandatory gratuity on party of 5 or more. The problem is that they added the gratuity before the sales tax. I caught it before I paid. They are essentially taxing their customers on the TIP 😳. I told the manager they can get sued for that it's bad for business. I won't be returning not until they treat their guests better. Here is the bill without the gratuity added. I had to ask the manager to take it off as long as I promised to tip the waitress 20%, kind of shady!
Customer service terribleThey don't answer phone went to the restaurant employee told me he was not going to take my order I ask why he said im not taking any order call if you want. I told him have been calling for a hour i live 40 minutes from the restaurant took my time and drove he told and if you want call again i call in front of him he did not answer the phone. I said to him im calling he told me im not taking your order lady. Feeling disappointed happy mother day for me. Cero customer service
Yes!!! Classic "wharf & port" style restaurant. Wooden tables, bibs and rolled out paper table covers. Perfect setting to get messy full. I had the 'Ultimate E.A.T' options, as the server informed my party that it will suffice for 3 persons. The cornbread taste like "home". The seafood rice was a bootleg, unseasonably, bland fried rice, in my opinion. The seasoned French fries were on point. Not enough vegetables within the boil bag. The corn on the cob was not a big hit either, in appearance or taste. I was not fortunate enough to receive at least one potatoe despite being told this menu option would feed 3 - there were only portions for 2 persons, which deems myself unable to rate this item.
